Pricing - $250 for individuals, $300 for couples, $90 for group therapy, $275 per hour for psychological evaluations (cost estimates given upfront).
I also offer the opportunity to prepay for your appointments at a reduced cost. I am always looking for ways to honor and celebrate you investing in your growth and psychological health. There are 3 options you can choose from: 8 sessions, 16 sessions, and 24 sessions. I will take $10, $20, or $30 off each session respectively.
I offer weekly 50-minute sessions to new clients. I find that building a relationship and establishing trust is paramount to doing good work. When sessions are spaced out, clients really don’t reap the full benefits. This does not mean either of us are doing something wrong. However, to share intimate and vulnerable pieces of yourself, you must feel safe enough to expose truths you’ve brilliantly hidden from yourself and others for quite some time.
Though I have worked with children in the past, I feel my wheelhouse is best suited to those who have some ability to maintain their own autonomy and engage in a certain level of insight oriented work. For this reason, I will not consider adolescents younger than 13 years old. I will consider families on a case by case basis using the same minimal age requirement. If this pertains to collaborative parenting, the clients are the parents and therefore appropriate for my services.
Since I am a member of Psypact, there are several states I am able to practice. Therefore, I hold the majority of sessions via telehealth. However, if you reside in the Austin area, I prefer in-person sessions at my office off Spicewood Springs Rd. It can be easy to hide parts of what is disruptive to your life and relationships when you have the protection of a screen. Meeting together allows us to dig in and push through those obstacles with more ease and transparency.
**Covid Disclaimer: I invite any client who is vaccinated and/or wearing a mask to participate in in-person sessions. I respect that every person has a right to their opinions and beliefs. As another human in this world, I do too and prioritize the values that feel most protective to me and my family. I am happy to hold telehealth sessions for those who feel strongly opposed to masks and/or vaccines.
Group therapy is an amazing way to connect with others who may have overlapping identities, are facing similar obstacles, or share a preference in their therapeutic needs. While it isn't focused on one person, it has the great benefit of existing in a space with many perspectives. These groups rely on safety, trust, confidentiality, and a willingness to challenge and be challenged. Ask about current group offerings.
Under NO circumstance will I maintain social relationships with clients. I will not follow, friend, or connect with clients outside a professional manner. This is absolutely essential to the integrity of our work. If it wasn’t, you’d be able to reach this level of intimacy with your best friend. However, this is not a reciprocal relationship. I require NOTHING of you as it relates to my mental or emotional well-being. This is designed specifically with your needs in mind. That’s what makes it so sacred. At no point should you feel like you have to negotiate your needs to make space for mine. That is NOT therapy.
I ask clients to the best of their abilities to respect the boundaries put in place. However, I do understand that on rare occasions, clients need early morning or evening appointments. I will discuss with clients on an as needed basis options to extend my hours. This will also require clients to understand that it will not be an offer extended for an indefinite amount of time.
First, they absolutely are NOT required for therapy. However, I have found that it can be really difficult finding additional resources in the saturated land of self-help literature. Not all of these books are academic, but I can vouch for the book as one I feel has additive value to the topic it’s listed below. These are personal suggestions and do not reflect my complete and/or full opinion of these topics.
Money is a great place to work on boundaries. However, it can also prove disruptive to therapy at times. For that reason, I try to be very transparent about how fees work. Every client is required to leave a card on file, which is run at the beginning of the same day of session. I require a 24-hour cancellation notice. Preferably, this can be done through text so that there is not a lag in time of receipt. I reserve one “freebie” as I realize life happens and unforeseen events are part of the human experience. However, to maintain the fidelity and purity of our relationship, last minute cancellations will be charged the same as if the session occurred. I will allow clients to reschedule in the same week if availability permits.
The short answer is no, I am an out-of-network provider. I’ve gone back and forth and decided that I want to have 100% transparency with clients about the value of therapy and want clients to know exactly where their money is going. I also would prefer not to let third party challenges interrupt the therapeutic relationship by causing unanticipated conflict that inevitably arises with insurance panels. However, I understand most clients have insurance and would prefer to fully take advantage of the benefits of their coverage. With that said, I have included links to the claim forms of the major insurance carriers and provide superbills upon requests so that you may individually file.
